Chef Justin Jennings was born in Australia and is Owner and Executive Chef of  “Downunder by Justin Jennings” which opened its doors in February 2017. 


In 2022 Justin was invited to take part in an international TV cooking competition, competing against 15 other chefs from around the globe. He travelled throughout the United Kingdom and Europe, before winning the final that was held in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The series premiered on Amazon Prime in December 2022. Justin is the first “The World Cook” Champion ever!

In his early teens Justin was drawn to commercial kitchens. Winning the title of “Young chef of the year” in Australia at age 23.

During his over 20 years in the industry, Justin has assumed many head chef roles in restaurants and hotels, as well as completing a teaching degree and sharing his acquired skills as a commercial cooking instructor.

In 2015 Justin spent time as a chef/consultant in Hong Kong, opening 5 restaurants in 3 months, before settling in Portugal with his wife and 2 boys to open “Downunder by Justin Jennings”.


From a young age, Justin developed a strong passion for sustainable farming, fishing, hunting & foraging. This directly translates to his deep understanding of fresh, locally sourced produce, and its importance in the modern kitchen.
